"Following the presidential election of 2020, the idea crystallized in my mind that America's problem isn't the result of individual leaders or individual actions, but rather it's the product of a massive, self-serving system in which the two parties serve as competitors AND referees. Whichever path we choose in the days to come – embracing partisanship or promoting civil discourse – the work will be hard. Given the choice, I choose the version of hard that unites people instead of dividing them. I choose to fight for people instead of fighting with them."
